Jim Pransky:  Baseball Pitching, Hitting, Fielding
 

Jim Pransky has spent most of his baseball career as an MLB Scout where he spent 25 collective years scouting for the Colorado Rockies, Tampa Bay Rays, Oakland A’s, Cincinnati Reds, & the Houston Astros organizations. Jim scouted for the Oakland A’s during the “MONEYBALL” era (2001 “Scout of the Year”), and for the Tampa Bay Rays where he earned an American League Championship ring for their 2008 World Series appearance. In addition to his extensive scouting work, Jim has seven (7) years of college coaching experience as the Head Coach at St. Bonaventure University for three (3) years, Head Coach at Quincy University (IL) for three (3) years, & Assistant Coach at George Washington University for 1 (one) year. Jim also has professional coaching on his resumé as Coach on the ’96 Low-A Quad Cities River Bandits of the Houston Astros organization at the time, as well as handling Hitting Coach duties of the ’98 Low-A Southern Oregon Timberjacks of the Oakland A’s organization. Internationally, Jim was a Consultant for the Lithuanian Baseball Program where he helped in camps & clinics, housed international players, and performed other duties. At a more local level, the Eldred, Pennsylvania native owned and operated the Sandlot Baseball Center in the Quad Cities for eight (8) years where he instructed students from ages 7 to 21 (twelve years of total youth instruction experience), as well as operated the facility and oversaw other instructors. Jim has penned 13 baseball-related books (found on Amazon or wherever else books may be sold) including his latest memoir, “Baseball’s Test of Spirit: A Man’s Unlikely Odyssey into the Scouting World.” Jim has seven (7) years of elementary teaching experience and has a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree.  Jim resides in Davenport with his wife Grace.
