Jaqson Tejada brings a Division 1 baseball knowledge, variety of instruction types, and a passion for teaching to Launch Lab Baseball & Softball students. Jaqson’s playing career includes a strong record of personal success at both the high school and collegiate levels.
At the high school level, Jaqson was a Captain on one of the Marion Indians most successful teams in program history, the 2021 3A State Championship team. During his time at Marion High School as the Indian’s ace pitcher, first baseman, catcher, corner outfielder, and a key bat in the lineup, Tejada was a three-time Varsity Captain and a four-time All-Conference selection. He’s also set multiple records including the lowest ERA in school history by a freshman on Varsity (2.30), most wins ever by a freshman on Varsity (7-0 record), most career RBI’s in postseason play, and set the single-season RBI record his sophomore year. Out of high school Tejada boasted the #2 college pitching prospect designation in Iowa, the #6 overall college prospect designation in Iowa, and was a top 500 prospect nationally as rated by Perfect Game and Prep Baseball Report.
After high school, Tejada continued his baseball career as a pitcher at Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) where he earned national recognition as the “JUCO Pitcher of the Month” for two consecutive months, posting a 2.98 ERA during that stretch and not allowing a run for 38 consecutive innings. Tejada was also an All-Conference selection for the 2024-2025 season and threw a no-hitter against the #10 ranked team in the nation.
Tejada is currently a junior at Northern Illinois University with 2 years of eligibility remaining and will continue to develop his athletic and academic skills at the Division 1 level.
Tejada has also competed for the Clinton LumberKings of the Prospect League in 2025 and will again be competing for the LumberKings in the summer of 2026 where he will continue to gain valuable experience against high-level competition.
