Jake McAllister: Baseball Catching & Hitting

Jake McAllister is a 2009 graduate of Assumption High School in Davenport where he was a 3-year starting Catcher for the Knights. McAllister helped anchor the Knights behind the dish with his strong arm and elite defensive skills, while being a formidable power presence in the middle of the lineup year after year. McAllister helped fuel the Knights to a 2007 State Runner-Up finish and a 2008 State Championship title where he clubbed a .700 batting average for Assumption over the Iowa state tournament. During his 2009 Senior year at Assumption, McAllister led the team in hits, walks, and doubles, while tallying a .421 batting average and clubbing 8 home runs which earned him 1st-Team All-Conference and 2nd-Team All-State honors.

After his high school career, McAllister took his talents to the prestigious Southeast Community College (Burlington, IA) baseball program for two years where he refined his hitting and catching skills en-route to transferring to Saint Ambrose University (Davenport, IA) for his Junior season. During his Junior year for the Fighting Bees, McAlister was a regular in the lineup and behind the plate helping the Fighting Bees to a 29-17 win-loss record and earning himself Midwest Collegiate Conference All-Conference honors due to his performance as a hitter and a catcher. McCallister would often catch fellow Launch Lab Baseball & Softball Pitching Instructor and former Saint Ambrose University Pitcher Robert Copley during this season.

McAllister has experience giving 1-on-1 lessons and is also a certified Iowa High School Athletic Association & USSSA umpire.
