Brandon Matias: Baseball Hitting
Brandon is a 2019 graduate of Glenbrook South High School in Glenview, Illinois. There, Brandon tallied three years as a starter on the Varsity team, which included a 2019 1st-Team All-State honor as an outfielder for the Titans. After High School, Brandon continued his collegiate career at Oakton Community College (Des Plaines, IL), where he ignited the Owls to two (2) NJCAA D3 World Series appearances in 2021 and 2022. In 2021 with the Owls, Brandon earned 1st-Team All-Conference and 1st-Team All-Region honors after hitting for a .316 AVG, 8 home runs, 41 RBIs, and a .983 OPS. After Oakton Community College, Brandon took his baseball talents to St. Ambrose University (Davenport, IA), where during the 2023-2024 season, he earned 1st-Team All-Conference honors with a .346 AVG, 18 home runs, 58 RBIs, and a 1.171 OPS. Brandon currently has 30 career collegiate home runs, and will be returning to St. Ambrose to play out his final collegiate season. From 2020 to 2022, Brandon was a versatile coach for “Illinois Travel Baseball” where he helped with hitting development in the offseason (hitting coach) and was an assistant coach for their 16u/17u teams in the summer. Brandon was invited to and coached at the first-ever Youth Banana Ball Tournament put on by the Savannah Bananas. Brandon is excited to utilize all his experience to aid in the development of local Launch Lab Baseball & Softball students.
